Patch test records before colouring and treatments
Record patch tests on the client card: what was tested, when and the result. The app counts how long a test stays valid.
How it works
- Set up the test types once: for hair colour, lash glue, brow tint or your own. For each one set how many hours to wait for the result and how many days it stays valid.
- Apply the product and create a test on the client card: what it was, the batch number, the skin area and the time of application.
- When the waiting time has passed, open the test and record the result: negative or positive, with notes on any reaction.
- Lock the test. A negative result gets the date until which it is valid and no longer changes.
- Before the next procedure open the card: Belanote shows whether the test is valid, waiting for a reading, expired or needs to be repeated.
Everything on the client card
Each test stores the product, the date, the result and how long it stays valid; add a photo if you need one. The test is tied to the client, so you never dig through notes.
The app counts the validity
Belanote shows how much longer a patch test is valid and makes sure you don't forget it before colouring or a treatment.
A locked result doesn't change
Once a test is locked, it can't be edited after the fact. If a question comes up, you have an exact record.
Works offline
Patch tests, like the rest of the card, are stored on the phone in an encrypted database and are available offline.
How long a test lasts and who decides
The app has starting values: 48 hours of waiting and 180 days of validity for hair colour, 24 hours and 180 days for lash glue, 48 hours and 180 days for brow tint. They are only a starting point: you change the waiting time and the validity yourself, and requirements depend on the country, the product and the manufacturer's instructions. If you are not sure, check with a lawyer or the instructions of the product.
How the validity is counted
The waiting time is counted in hours from the moment of application. The validity is counted in calendar days in your time zone from the moment the result is read, so a test stays valid until the same time of day. A valid result takes priority over a newer test that is still waiting: while a retest is under way you can keep working with the previous one.
Who it helps
Practitioners who work with colours, glues and other products that can cause an allergic reaction: colourists, brow artists, lash artists. It matters most when you have many regular clients and the dates of different tests are easy to mix up.
Questions and answers
Can I change how long a test is valid?
Yes. You set the waiting time and the validity for each test type yourself. The starting values in the app are only a suggestion.
What happens when a test has expired?
The card shows that the test has expired and a new one is needed. The earlier record stays in the history.
Can I correct a locked test?
No. A locked result does not change after the fact. If the client needs a new test, create a new one.
Do patch tests work without internet?
Yes. Tests are kept in an encrypted database on the phone, and changes sync when the connection returns.
